Peer Review
A critical objective of GJAR mission statement is to provide highly relevant technical
information. GJAR have implemented a rigorous peer review process to ensure the high
quality of its technical material. GJAR has introduced peer review processes
from its first edition onwards. The researchers submitting their manuscripts for
review and subsequent publication should oblige by peer-reviewing at least one paper
from their domain. Once the author submits any manuscript, an acknowledgment shall
be sent to the author along with a technical paper for peer-review. The concerned
manuscript shall be simultaneously reviewed by our extensive internal review/ referee
network. The terms and conditions that behold any general reviewer/referee shall
also hereby levied upon the peer-reviewers. Protection of Intellectual Property
is one of the primary agendas of any reviewer/referee. Referees are formal reviewers
whose comments and opinions will form the basis upon which the Editor will decide
whether or not to publish the paper, and with what changes. GJAR requires that
referees treat the contents of papers under review as privileged information, not
to be disclosed to others before publication. The referees are protected from personal
interactions with the author by withholding their names. TheChief- Editor's decision
is always based on all the reviews received, but mixed reviews present the need
for the exercise of editorial judgment. Thus, the final decision for acceptance
or rejection lies with the Chief-Editor. The review process shall ensure that all
authors have equal opportunity for publication of their papers in GJAR.
What is peer review?
Peer review (also known as refereeing) is the process of subjecting an author's
scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in
the same field. Peer review requires a community of experts in a given (and often
narrowly defined) field, who are qualified and able to perform impartial review.
Impartial review, especially of work in less narrowly defined or inter-disciplinary
fields, may be difficult to accomplish; and the significance (good or bad) of an
idea may never be widely appreciated among its contemporaries. Pragmatically, peer
review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and
funding applications. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards
of their discipline and prevents the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted
claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views. Publications that have
not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by scholars and
professionals. Referees' evaluations usually include an explicit recommendation
of what to do with the manuscript or proposal, often chosen from options provided
by the journal. Most recommendations are along the lines of the following:
- to unconditionally accept the manuscript or proposal,
- to accept it in the event that its authors improve it in certain ways,
- to reject it, but encourage revision and invite resubmission,
- to reject it outright.
GJAR follows a strict blind peer-review program, wherein the reviewers are not aware
of the identities of the authors of the papers which are being reviewed by them.
This policy is a recent amendment to the existing set of guidelines so as to prevent
any sort of favoritism. The GJAR reviewers are selected after thorough screening
process. GJAR has a process of inviting applications from prospective reviewers.
However, the publisher also individually contacts and invites competent individuals
to join the esteemed board of GJAR reviewers.
Join as Reviewer
GJAR welcomes competent academicians to join us as reviewers. Being a reviewer is
a matter of prestige and personnel achievement. GJAR follows a strict set of guidelines
while accepting the applicant as a reviewer of GJAR. The minimum set of qualifications
for being a reviewer of GJAR are listed below:
- Should be a holder of PhD degree from a recognized university.
- Should be an GJAR research author with atleast three GJAR publications.
- Should be an author with a minimum of a 10 publications in reputed journals.

for our internal purposes. GJAR will revert back within 2-3 working days.
